Telogen effluvium is a temporary condition, caused by stress or changes in your life. In the resting phase of each strand, hair follicles release a large number of mature telogen effluvium hairs. When this occurs, the follicles will divide rapidly, but the shaft will not be replaced with a new one, leaving the remaining hairs in a resting phase. Over time, if the person does not take good care of their hair, the resting phase will lengthen and the follicles will not be replaced. The result is that eventually, there will be very few hairs in the resting phase. A person who is suffering from telogen effluvium is likely to see dramatic hair loss.

Pattern baldness, also known as male pattern baldness, is another common cause of hair loss. Hair loss appears in patches, usually on the crown of the head but also on other areas of the head, and it can affect men of any age and race. This form of hair loss tends to affect younger men more than older men.

One way to help improve the appearance of hair loss is to use Scalp Micropigmentation from professionals such as His Hair Clinic. This procedure creates the illusion of follicles on the head and therefore helps to reduce the appearance of hair loss on the scalp.
